This week we explore that the Bible can come into colour as we read it. It is the word of God and the book for life. This edition of Bible Bites has one of our favourite illustrations, we hope you will enjoy it as we explore Psalm 119 verse 105: “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path”.
There are teacher supporting notes available for all the editions of Bible Bites. If you work at a school and would like these, please contact us. We would be very happy to support you.
The simple illustration this week links in with the theme that prayer is connecting to God. We explore what Jesus said about prayer, how people pray and where. The illustration is explained so children can learn how to do this at school or home. Props needed – £5 note (or paper!) and 2 paper clips.
This week Bible Bites explores having courage to let the good shine out bright rather than hiding the light under a cup or bowl. How do the bright yellow pompoms, representing light, move through the cups to represent making a brighter light? Watch to discover as we learn from Jesus teaching from the Sermon on the Mount about letting your light shine bright.
We are excited the Bible bites Easter Treasure Hunt is now here!
This is where you can get the the map to show where the different clues are in Dersingham. The clues are all in place and can be seen from the outside of shops, organisations or businesses and will be available until Saturday 10th April 2021. Use the QR codes on the map to see a short introduction video from Rev Mark and one at the end when you have finished by Rev Dave. The answers from each clue in order will make a summary of a Bible verse in Luke’s Gospel about Easter.
Every entry will get a prize for taking part!
We hope you will enjoy getting out and exploring during the Easter holidays.
We journey through the Easter narrative focusing on Good Friday exploring that Good Friday is Good because of the love that God has for us, so that we can say sorry for our sin and be forgiven. This week’s illustration involves paper disappearing and unusually it is explained how it works!
The good news is there will be an Bible Bites Easter Part 2 for children and families during the holidays available online from Easter Day. Rev Mark and Rev Dave are looking forward to learning more about Jesus Resurrection by making something unbelievable yet great fun!!!
This week in our online worship we have the passage from John 12 being read by Shirley, Adrian sharing the message and Alan leading us in a time of intercession. The virtual St Nicholas Chuch choir sing this week and as ever there are hymns and songs as part of our worship to God.
Can you get a 10p coin into a glass bottle? This week we hear Jesus say its easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than a rich person to get to heaven. We explore perseverance and who or what is important in life.
